How to tap to pick up items with Warzone's Contextual Tap and Black Ops: Cold War's Prioritize Interact explained

There, there.
If you're tired of holding down buttons, here's how Contextual Tap and Prioritize Interact work in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.

Warzone's Contextual Tap and Black Ops: Cold War's Prioritize Interact options allow you to change the way you pick up items when using a controller.

This isn't a new setting, but it can be easily overlooked if you weren't aware of it beforehand. Considering the game remains ever changing with new seasonal updates, there is never a bad chance to put this option to test and see if you fancy it.

If you would like to stop holding down the interact button and instead tap to pick up items, this guide will cover how Contextual Tap works in Warzone and how Prioritize Interact works in Black Ops: Cold War, along with the steps to activate both.

What is Contextual Tap in Warzone and Prioritize Interact in Black Ops: Cold War?

Contextual Tap and Prioritize Interact is a unique option with a different name in the settings menu that changes the behaviour of the interact button when using a controller. Whenever you get close to a weapon or item on the floor and other surfaces, a prompt appears to pick up the object.

By default, you need to hold down the interact button (X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation) for a brief moment to perform the action. But Contextual Tap and Prioritize Interact change this so you can tap to pick up items instead.

Doing so can be beneficial, as looting will be much quicker in comparison, as well as actions such as opening doors or entering vehicles. But do bear in mind that reloading your weapon is slightly affected by this.

If you press the interact button without any object or interactable action nearby, you will reload your weapon. If you're close to anything that gives you the prompt, you will have to hold down the button to reload instead. Make sure to keep this in mind if you're on a vehicle, as you will hop off from it automatically by tapping!

How to turn on Contextual Tap in Warzone

The way to get Contextual Tap is rather straightforward and shouldn't take you more than a couple seconds, as listed below:

  1. Go to the Options menu
  2. Head to the Controller tab
  3. Scroll all the way down to the Weapons section
  4. Search for the Use/Reload Behavior option

How to turn on Prioritize Interact in Black Ops: Cold War

  1. Go to the Options menu
  2. Head to the Controller tab
  3. Scroll all the way down to the Advanced section
  4. Search for the Use/Reload Behavior option
  5. Switch to Prioritize Interact

That is all. It might take you some time to get used to it, but we hope you find it useful. Enjoy your faster looting!
