Ubi fixes Splinter Cell: Conviction issue

No more freezing, promises publisher.

Ubisoft claims to have fixed a problem which caused Splinter Cell: Conviction to freeze during gameplay.

"The issue has been resolved, you should now be able to play without further problems," a spokesperson told Kotaku. "You can download the update now and be able to play the game without it freezing or needing to be unplugged from Xbox Live."

US purchasers of the Xbox 360 version of the game had complained it was freezing on the second level and at other points. Ubi initially advised players to clear their hard drive cache and reboot their 360 with Xbox Live disconnected to solve the problem. Now, however, none of that should be necessary.

Splinter Cell: Conviction will be released for Xbox 360 this Friday in Europe, with a PC version to follow in two weeks. Look out for a review on Eurogamer very soon.
