Trine 3 gets new free stage and half off weekend sale

Linux support added.

Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power has received a new content update adding an all new level and support for Linux and SteamOS.

The new stage, Quest for Cake, sets our heroes in search of a delicious treat. Hopefully it's not a lie.

The update also tweaks a few minor issues, like adding mid-level checkpoints to the Lost Page stages and fixing the Wizard's box exploit.

"This is a free update that we felt inclined to do for our fans," said Frozenbyte CEO Lauri Hyvärinen. "We would love to continue with the Trine series and this is our first tentative step in that direction, hopefully the first of many."

To commemorate this new content, Trine 3 will be 50 per cent off this weekend on Steam, GOG and Humble Store, placing it at £7.99 rather than its usual £15.99.

The new content and sale are no doubt a response to fan backlash over the game's short length, which recently put the future of the series in jeopardy.
