The video games that tried (and failed) to predict 2019

Ever since their inception, video games have been offering us visions of what the future of the human race may hold. But now we've made it to the real life future (aka 2019) it's time to look back at how accurate those predictions actually were.

In the video below, I take a look at 9 games from the past that attempted to imagine what our present day life would be like and, if you hadn't already guessed, some of those predictions have proven to be a little wide of the mark.

Oh, and this is nothing to do with the video but if you want to feel really old, I recently found out that in August it'll be 20 years since Tony Hawk's Pro Skater came out. Sorry.

So there we go, the world may be a messed up place at the moment, but at least we don't have mutated sloth zombies, bipedal death machines and alien invasions. Shame about the lack of flying cars though. Maybe next year...
