Steam now selling non-game software

10 per cent off for its first week.

Valve has now opened Steam up to sell non-game software in addition to its usual catalogue.

The developer announced back in August that it would start doing this on 5th September, but the 5th came and went with no non-gaming software being added. But you know what they say about "Valve time."

As of today, the following programs are available on Steam:

  • ArtRage Studio Pro
  • CameraBag 2
  • GameMaker: Studio
  • 3D-Coat
  • 3DMark Vantage
  • 3DMark 11

Valved noted much of this software supports Steamworks features, "such as easy installation, automatic updating, and the ability to save your work to your personal Steam Cloud space."

As an added bonus, non-gaming software is 10 per cent off until 6 PM GMT on Tuesday, 9th October.
