Split/Second dev plans free-to-play title

New direction for beleaguered Black Rock?

The “promising”, “risky” new project underway at recently down-sized Split/Second studio Black Rock could be a free-to-play game, judging by a recent recruitment call.

As seen on GamesIndustry.biz, the Brighton-based outfit is on the look out for a game director with “an in-depth understanding of free-to-play gaming” for a new Unity-powered title.

No platforms are mentioned though a PC-only release is a reasonably safe bet.

Earlier this year, owner Disney announced it was cutting around 100 jobs at the studio after development of a Split/Second sequel was abandoned.
