Spider-Man Silver Lining DLC launches next week

Meanwhile, on the web...

Silver Lining, the third and final DLC for Marvel's Spider-Man, will arrive in time for Christmas - on 21st December.

Insomniac's PlayStation 4 exclusive concludes its The City That Never Sleeps three-part DLC arc with a look at mercenary and sometimes Spidey ally Silver Sable, AKA Silver Sablinova.

"Silver Sable has stormed back to reclaim her stolen Sable International tech," Insomniac's blurb states. "With New York Police Chief Yuri Watanabe on administrative leave following her exploits against Hammerhead, Spider-Man will have to rely on unlikely allies to keep Marvel's New York safe."

Expect more missions, revamped enemies, new challenges and - of course - three more Spidey suits.

As a nice tie-in to Sony's animated Into The Spider-Verse suit, you'll be able to swing around wearing that. Cyborg and Aaron Aikman variants of the iconic all-in-one will also be available.

But not everyone's happy. There's a loud contingent currently kicking up a stink on Twitter because Insomniac didn't include the costume worn by Spider-Man in the Sam Raimi movie trilogy. People are actually upset by this.

In the past, Insomniac has said it was "listening" to fans when they said they wanted the the Raimi suit in the game, which was enough to spark anger when it was revealed the suit wasn't in the game. Here's Insomniac's response to that, which puts it well.

Maybe in the sequel?
