SEGA considers Virtual On 360 sticks

Bespoke controller would be "expensive".

According to Siliconera, SEGA is considering manufacturing a twin-stick controller for the forthcoming Xbox 360 version of Virtual On.

The news comes directly from the horse's mouth - a developer post saying that they're exploring the possibility and looking at manufacturing costs. However, the controller might be too expensive to make it to market.

SEGA's Virtual On series of arcade mech fighters is known for its twin-stick control scheme, and the company made special controllers to accompany Saturn and Dreamcast versions of the game.

The 360 version - a port of Cyber Troopers Virtual On Oratorio Tangram version 5.66, the final incarnation of NAOMI/Dreamcast-era Virtual On - is destined for Xbox Live Arcade. It's due for release in Japan this month, and is scheduled for "spring" worldwide.
