Robot's Spartan game revealed

Former Age of Empires dev's new game.

Robot Entertainment - the studio formed from the ashes of Age of Empires and Halo Wars developer Ensemble - appears to be working on a new PC game called Spartan for Microsoft Game Studios.

Those scraps of information were gleaned from a screenshot of the game's launcher posted on Kotaku.

The picture shows a cartoony Spartan looking out over a cliff to the water and hills beyond. A patching box mentions quests, units and crafting.

Wait, patching box? Is this an MMO?

Robot Entertainment hasn't said. All that's been mentioned officially by the developer is that "Game 1.0" will be published by Microsoft Game Studios.

Spartan was codenamed "Project S" while Microsoft recruited alpha testers for the game. Alpha testing has been ongoing for a few weeks, according to Kotaku.
