PS3 UT3 officially delayed

Midway revises Q3 earnings estimates

For Q3, Midway has revised its sales estimates downwards from USD 50 million to USD 39 million. It now estimates full year sales at USD 170 million, down from 225 million.

Moving the PS3 version of Stranglehold to late October, putting it in Q4, was also cited as a reason for the revision.

A few weeks ago, in an attempt to debunk a German website's UT3 countdown clock, Epic's Mark Rein said there was no guarantee that the game would make its November launch date. "All we've said is that we're hoping for a November release, but as you know we value getting it right over getting it right now, so there's no guarantee of that," he wrote in a statement.

While addressing the issue, he indicated that the PS3 version would be released before the Xbox 360 version, but did not commit to a specific release date.
