Overwatch celebrates fourth birthday with three-week anniversary event

Now underway on all platforms.

Blizzard's persistently popular hero shooter Overwatch is celebrating its fourth birthday this year, and to celebrate those celebrations, a new three-week anniversary event is currently underway on Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and PC.

The event, simply titled Overwatch Anniversary 2020, runs from today, 19th May, and sees the return of all previous seasonal brawls and seasonal cosmetics. As is Overwatch's way, the latter will be squirrelled away inside loot boxes, but a number of rewards, including a selection of player icons and sprays, can be unlocked by completing weekly challenges.

Smaller rewards are doled out for winning three and six games each week, but players reaching nine wins will unlock a new epic skin; week one brings the Carbon Fiber Sigma epic skin, week two the Fleur de Lis Widowmaker, and week three the Masked Man McCree.

Additionally, five new legendary skins - Masquerade Reaper, Huitzilopochtli Zenyatta, Little Red Ashe, Submarine Wrecking Ball, and Dragoon Mercy - will be available throughout the event, alongside new player icons, emotes, and sprays.

Overwatch Anniversary 2020 runs from 19th May until 9th June, and a new seasonal brawl will come into rotation each day. A full schedule for the three weeks ahead, plus a few more details on the event, can be found on the Overwatch website.
