Resi Mercs! UFC! Dynasty Warriors!

The cast of Capcom's survival horror series reunites this week for Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. Heard the name before? You've probably played the all-fighting spin-off as a mini-game in Resi 4 and 5. It's expanded here, with a larger cast and extra features.

American Football title BackBreaker: Vengeance is another spin-off born out of a mini-mode. It's a downloadable arcade style title for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, born out of the original BackBreaker's Tackle Alley gameplay.

Want to get fit while beating people up? Take off your shell suit and slip into UFC Personal Trainer. Dubbed "The Ultimate Fitness System", it blends hardcore fisticuffs with Kinect, Move and Wii Remote huffing and puffing.

Third in the Dynasty Warriors' spin-off series, Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 lands this week, Joan Collins nowhere in sight. It features the parent franchise's hack and slash fighting style blended with Gundam's Japanese anime mechs. Kapow.

Also out this week? Home consoles get a Tour de France game, while Kirby's original outing is re-released on 3DS.

Call of Duty Black: Ops gets a third slice of DLC on Xbox 360 (PC, PS3 release dates are still to be announced). Annihilation brings five new maps, including a jungle-based zombie skirmish.

Fingers crossed, Europe will finally see Trenched - last week's downloadable tower defense title is still awaiting release in Europe. Double Fine's MIA game failed to find its way through the Internet tubes to this side of the Atlantic despite making its release in the US.

This Week in Shops!

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D

  • Developer: Capcom
  • Publisher: Capcom
  • Formats: 3DS

What is it? An against-the-clock battle for points and survival starring a load of Las Plagas zombies and your favourite Resident Evil characters. Except Leon. He's too busy, apparently. What does Eurogamer think? Look for Eurogamer's review this Friday.

Wot no Leon?

UFC Personal Trainer

  • Developer: Heavy Iron Studios
  • Publisher: THQ
  • Formats: PS3, Wii, Xbox 360

What is it? UFC Undisputed mixed with Wii Fit. THQ exec Danny Bilson previously pledged: "I'm not going to ship it until it's the coolest fighting thing in the world." What does Eurogamer think? A Eurogamer review has not yet been scheduled.

Fighting fit.

Backbreaker: Vengeance

  • Developer: NaturalMotion
  • Publisher: 505 Games

Chart Predictions!

Each week one of the team steps up to predict the UK all-formats chart. The following predicts the outcome for the week beginning Friday 27th June (to be reported on Monday 4th July).

Johnny Minkley, Editor, Eurogamer TV

"Zumba Fitness continues to defy normal sales trajectory and, with a dearth of major new games, will continue to next week. By a distance, I expect. Resi Evil Mercenaries is probably the biggest new release, but I suspect most 3DS gamers are too busy with Zelda to rush out and buy it. Meanwhile, if Andy Murray manages to stave off his inevitable crushing Wimbledon defeat until at least the semi-finals, Top Spin 4 could quietly creep back into contention."

  1. Zumba Fitness
  2. L.A. Noire
  3. Lego Pirates
  4. Top Spin 4
  5. FIFA 11

Eurogamer Senior Staff Writer Rob Purchese attempted to predict the future last week. Our fancy table below shows how well he did.

Position The Truth The Prediction Result
1 Zumba Fitness Zumba Fitness YES!
2 L.A. Noire Duke Nukem Forever NO!
3 Fear 3 L.A. Noire NO!
4 Dirt 3 Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D NO!
5 Lego Pirates Lego Pirates YES!
