Metal Slug 6 joins compilation

PSP Anthology grows.

Ignition Entertainment has revealed that Metal Slug 6 will form part of Metal Slug Anthology on PSP after all.

Originally the PSP compilation of SNK Playmore's classic arcade games was to consist of Metal Slugs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and X, but it seems after a successful arcade outing SNK was keen to complete the set.

Metal Slug 6 (out in Japan on PlayStation 2, as well) introduces Ralf Jones and Clark Steel from King of Fighters and Ikari Warriors to a line-up that already includes Marco Rossi, Tarma Roving, Eri Kasamoto and Fio Germi.

It also introduces the Weapon Stock System, which allows you to carry two power-ups at the same time and swap between them.

Metal Slug Anthology will aim to replicate the Sammy Atomiswave arcade board as perfectly as possible, and like the other Slugs in the compilation you'll be able to play it in widescreen or the original aspect ratio.

Anthology also allows for wireless two-player co-op. The whole caboodle's due out on 27th October, and there's a Wii version also in development.
