ZOO Digital to publish Alien Hominid in Europe

That solves that mystery. Next one: why's it on PS2 and Xbox when it was on PS2 and Cube in the USA?

ZOO Digital has acquired the publishing rights to independent developer the Behemoth's hand-drawn 2D side-scrolling shoot-'em-up Alien Hominid, the publisher revealed this week.

Alien Hominid, which began life as a Web-based flash game before morphing into a cult PS2 and GameCube success in the USA, will be released in Europe on PS2 and Xbox this coming May.

As to why ZOO is releasing PS2/Xbox not PS2/Cube as it was in the States... We can't help you. The UK rep we spoke to this morning wasn't sure, but we should get our hands on code in the next couple of weeks so it seems safe to say that the Behemoth had an Xbox port on the go in any event.

We'll be sure to have a good long go when we get our hands on it. After all, we hand-drawn 2D side-scrolling shoot-'em-ups are somewhat unlike the majority of things we sit around playing these days. And yours truly just bought a projector, too. Mmm.

Some screenshots to admire.
