No plans for Lunar DS in Europe

Not currently, says Ubisoft.

Ubisoft has no plans to release Lunar: Dragon Song for Nintendo DS in Europe, the publisher told us this week.

The disappointing news comes about a week after the company's US arm unveiled the game, which is being developed by Japan Art Media in conjunction with GameArts, and revealed that it would be a DS exclusive.

The game's set 1,000 years before Lunar: Silver Star, which appeared around a decade ago, and immediately piqued the interest of longstanding fans of the series.

Fortunately, the Nintendo DS isn't bound by any regional compatibility issues, so those same enthusiasts should be able to buy the game from importers - assuming Sony, Nintendo et al haven't rounded them all up and burnt them at the stake by then - shortly after its September release.

We'll bring you more in a couple of cycles.
