Unreal mod contest likely

Rein seeks repeat.

Mark Rein is keen to see another "Make Something Unreal" mod contest, after the last one catapulted World War II shooter Red Orchestra to fame. Well, semi-fame.

"People ask me 'will there be another NVIDIA $1,000,000 Make Something Unreal contest?'" he told CVG. "Sure, we'll round up some sponsors again and hopefully have another big, huge mod contest."

He also reckons the next attempt will be "spectacular" thanks to the improvements the company's made to its technology since the last one - something evidenced by the enormous numbers of developers buying into Unreal Engine 3.

The likes of Bioware, Silicon Knights, Midway, Gearbox, Atari, Buena Vista and plenty of others have already licensed UE3, which also forms the basis of Epic's own Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 2007.
