No more Sims add-ons ever!

Just kidding, of course. The Sims 2 Nightlife is due this autumn. Ho-hum.

The gaming world was rocked to its very foundations today as EA confirmed the announcement of an add-on everyone knew they'd make before they even announced it.

The Sims 2 Nightlife features a new downtown location full of "swanky hot spots" where the Sims can enjoy "all-new dating gameplay and a new life goal focused on pleasure seeking." We think they mean it's got dirty bits.

You'll be able to romance other Sims by taking them on dates, and enjoy drinking, dancing and who knows what else until the small hours of the morning.

There are more than 125 new objects including a DJ booth and "Electro Dance Sphere". And you can design your own "ultimate nightclub" complete with VIP lounge, coke and hookers. Oh alright, we made the last two up.

It's the second expansion pack for The Sims 2, which has sold more than 4.5 million copies worldwide since it was launched last September. The add-on will be in the shops this autumn and you can find some screenshots here.

Rumours that there are now more Sims than humans on this planet are yet to be confirmed. But still give us nightmares.
