Activision confirms its Shrek 2 plans

Also has rights to other DreamWorks CG films.

Activision has issued an expected release confirming that the upcoming Shrek 2 game will no longer be co-published under its previous agreement with TDK Mediactive, now terminated following Take-Two's acquisition of the latter in 2003.

Furthermore, TDK has assigned to Activision all rights relating to future Shrek films. Activision's agreement with DreamWorks means it already has the rights to develop and publish games for console, handheld and PC platforms based on the film Shrek 2, which is due out in summer 2004 and sees Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and co. reprise their roles from the first film.

Activision also holds exclusive rights to publish games based on DreamWorks' other computer-animated films; Shark Tale, Madagascar and Over the Hedge.
