New LittleBigPlanet portal links with PSN

Remotely queue up new levels.

A new LittleBigPlanet web portal, lbp.me, has just launched to help players sift through the thousands of user-generated levels on offer.

The new site lets you remotely sign in to your PlayStation Network account and then see what your friends are up to in the game.

The latest levels are listed as they're posted, alongside charts that show the most 'trended' new creations and Media Molecule's own top picks. If you see a level you like the look of you can then queue it up so that it's ready to play next time you turn on your console.

While Xbox 360 gamers might be accustomed to this sort of inter-connectivity, this isn't something Sony has ever tried to do itself.

As is customary, there are a bunch of social networking features built in to the site too so that you can spread the word about any stages you've made or enjoyed playing.

To help facilitate all this community building though, you'll first need to wrestle with the privacy settings, which are locked up as default.

Media Molecule explained itself on the game's official site: "LittleBigPlanet is about Playing, Creating and Sharing, and even though we have defaulted all the privacy settings to off, we'd really love everyone to open up their levels and profiles to the world, it will really help the community to grow, and be a huge benefit!"

All of this is timed rather nicely to coincide with the imminent launch of LittleBigPlanet 2, which arrives in stores on 18th January.
