MS unveils standalone 250GB HDD

Out now in US, next month in Europe.

Microsoft has announced plans to release a standalone 250GB hard disk add-on for Xbox 360 next month.

The hard disk is available to pre-order for £79.99 from Amazon.co.uk (thanks VG247), which says it will be available on 16th April.

The add-on is available in the US as of today for $129.99.

Microsoft has previously and repeatedly denied that it planned to do this.

"Once they saw the positive desire for the larger HDD, the hardware team made the decision," according to Xbox Live's Major Nelson.
