Metro: Last Light no longer certain for Wii U

4A Games focussing on PC, PS3, Xbox 360.

Metro: Last Light is no longer a lock for Wii U, despite appearing during the console's announcement at Nintendo's E3 show last year.

Speaking in an interview with Digital Spy, THQ global brand manager Mark Madsen confirmed that the game is not currently in development for the platform.

He wouldn't completely rule out a future release but stressed that if it did ever make it over to Nintendo's new system it would be after the main PC/PS3/Xbox 360 launch early next year.

"If it does happen, it won't sim-ship with the other SKUs, but if the opportunity arises we'll take a look at it," he said.

When asked if THQ had been too hasty to announce the game for Wii U last June, Madsen replied, "No, I don't think it was a bit too early."

"As we got along in the development process, we just really wanted to focus on what we knew, focus on PS3, 360 and PC," he added.

"The verdict is out on what we can do to maximise the code for the Wii U, and we'll see [what happens]."
