Halo Anniversary Kinect features

UPDATE: Analyse Mode is Kinect exclusive.

UPDATE: Microsoft has confirmed that Analyse Mode is exclusive to Kinect.

ORIGINAL STORY: Microsoft has revealed how Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary works with Kinect.

During a New York Comic-Con panel (reported by IGN), Microsoft's 343 Industries unveiled the suite of Kinect features included in the HD remake.

Through Analyse Mode, you can scan items in the single-player campaign by moving the targeting reticule over them and saying the word "scan". Items you're able to scan include vehicles, characters, enemies and weapons.

Library is where you use gesture controls to view information about the items you've scanned. Your Library will grow as you scan more items.

And lastly, you can use your voice to switch the visuals from remastered to classic and vice versa, reload and throw grenades.

Do Halo Anniversary's Kinect features provide a glimpse into how Halo 4 will integrate Microsoft's motion-sensing tech?

In August Microsoft stressed Halo Anniversary's Kinect features were "cool", but said gamers shouldn't get too excited by them.

"I don't think it's going to be something that people need to be hyper-excited about," franchise development director Frank O'Connor said.

"It'll be cool, but it's not something you'd put on the front of the box. I don't want to downplay it, but I think of it like this - I use voice on Netflix and it's awesome, and that's what this'll be. Something that enhances you overall experience."

Earlier, 343 said the Halo remake's Kinect features would be optional.

"Just to let everybody know, the Kinect features we're exploring with Halo: Anniversary are optional and won't affect your core gameplay experience," read the post by a 343 community manager.

"Our mission, from day one, has been to deliver a faithful recreation of the original game, and we remain dedicated to seeing that through to completion."

Meanwhile, Microsoft has announced that the Hang 'Em High map remake, High Noon, is included with Halo: Anniversary.
