Dead or Alive 5: Last Round release date announced

Free-to-play Core Fighters version also revealed.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round will arrive in Europe on 20th February 2015 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, publisher Tecmo Koei has confirmed.

A free trial version of the fighting game, Dead or Alive 5 Last Round: Core Fighters will also be available on new-gen consoles.

In Core Fighters, PS4 owners will be able to play as Ayane, Hayate, Kasumi and Ryu in "almost every game mode" for free, and then expand their game by individually purchasing additional fighters and features.

Xbox One owners wanting to expand Core Fighters must first pay a small fee to purchase the game, and add another four characters in the process (Hitomi, Tina, Jann Lee, Bass).

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is the latest version of Tecmo Koei's fighter, featuring improved visuals and an expanded range of character and costume customisation.

All unlocked characters, costumes and story mode progress can be carried over from last-gen versions of Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate free of charge.

Pre-order the game's physical edition at various UK chains and you'll receive one of several costume packs. GAME gets the Ninja and Aloha packs, while ShopTo gets the Ninja and Showstopper packs. Independent retailers get the Ninja and Beach Party add-ons.
