Beatles: RB song pricing revealed

Plus: SingStar rumours trampled.

Harmonix and MTV have announced that downloadable albums for The Beatles: Rock Band will cost 1360 MSP (£11.56 / €16.32) on Xbox 360. Individual songs will be 160 MSP (£1.36 / €1.92).

Abbey Road will arrive first on 20th October, according to Joystiq - over a month after the game's 9th September release. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band will join in November, followed by Rubber Soul in December.

Abbey Road offers the B-side medley as one continual track ("You Never Give Me Your Money" to "The End"), and "All You Need is Love" will be a timed-exclusive DLC release for Xbox 360 from 9th September.

The extra Beatles: Rock Band content is exclusive to that game because of catalogue restrictions. But Harmonix has not forgotten about other Rock Band games, and aims to have 1000 songs available to download before Christmas. Artists will include Queen, Nirvana, Tom Petty, Elton John, Iggy Pop, The White Stripes, Pantera, Talking Heads, Korn and The Raconteurs.

You may have heard rumours of a SingStar: The Beatles game, too. Harmonix has responded.

"There is no SingStar: Beatles software product," said a statement, re-iterating the exclusive catalogue rights that Harmonix and MTV have. The confusion seems to have arisen from a proposed microphone bundle for The Beatles: Rock Band. The game, remember, introduces three-part harmonies, and so has more vocal depth than previous entries.
