Batman gets LEGO treatment

TT tackles masked crusader.

Traveller's Tales has announced it is working on a LEGO Batman game for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii and DS.

All will be available sometime in 2008, and older console versions are also being considered.

It is, of course, the same team that bought us LEGO Star Wars, which turned out to be a resounding hit with all age of gamers. So expect to see more of the same, Traveller's Tales director Tom Stone told Kiziko, as "We're going to do exactly what we did with LEGO Star Wars."

Traveller's Tales will be working with DC comics to create an entirely new adventure not related to either the films nor television show, and has been given future access to the Batman vaults.

The Joker and the Penguin are expected to rear their evil heads in this new adaptation, as is the spooky Arkham Asylum. However, there's no word on the camp crusader's partner Robin, or the elusive Catwoman, though we expect they may well be unlockable.

Downloadable content is planned at some stage for Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, but other than that all games should more or less be the same.

We were unable to get hold of Traveller's Tales for more information, but we'll keep you posted.
