Developer Naughty Dog has detailed exactly what you can expect from Uncharted 3's multiplayer beta, which kicks off on PlayStation 3 today.

First up, you'll need to either own a copy of inFamous 2 or be a PlayStation Plus member to gain access. If that doesn't include you, the doors will be opened to all-comers from 5th July until close on 14th July.

Naughty Dog intends to cycle through a variety of competitive and co-op modes over three different maps: Airstrip, Chateau and Yemen.

The modes being tested are Team Deathmatch, Plunder, Three Team Deathmatch, Hardcore, Co-op Arena, Free For All, Team Objective, Co-op Hunter and Co-op Adventure.

Of those, Hardcore is a new addition to the series. It's essentially Team Deathmatch stripped down to the core basics, with no Boosters, Medal Kickbacks or Power Plays.

All progress you make or unlocks you secure will not carry over into the finished game, though beta participants will be rewarded with decals, avatars and in-game cash depending on how far they level up.
