DirectInput might not be the most exciting part of DirectX, but as it is in charge of how a DirectX game responds to your keyboard, mouse, joystick and other controllers, it is one of the most important. Microsoft have some big changes in store for DirectInput in their soon-to-be-released DirectX 8, and this week EuroGamer looks at DirectInput Mapper, a system which should allow games and controllers to support each other more easily and reliably, as well as making it easier for players to configure their devices.
