DS title Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney will be released on 9th May 2008 in Europe, Nintendo said today.

Nintendo? Yes, for it is the distributor, even though Capcom makes the Ace Attorney games and publishes them.

Apollo Justice is of course the new upstart replacement for Phoenix Wright, and once again sees players using the DS touch-screen and stylus to investigate crimes and then present evidence, interview witnesses and expose filthy lies in court.

The announcement's good timing on Nintendo's part, too, since Eurogamer's resident Ace Attorney fanboy John Walker only presented his own case for buying it on Monday.

He argued that while it's very much along the same lines, and probably takes less advantage of its good ideas than it should do, it's still fabulously funny and another fine example of what Capcom's brilliant writers and equally brilliant translation team can do when given half a chance.

And we'd argue that if you're into that sort of thing, you might want to do a sneaky import, since it's already out in the US, and May is all the way over there.
