Online entry into Nintendo's 3DS Ambassador Scheme ended at midnight last night, but gamers can still get the 20 free games if they prove they made their 3DS purchase prior to then.

Nintendo will provide a tool at ambassador.nintendo-europe.com to grant Ambassador status to gamers unable to connect to the eShop prior to midnight.

The tool is for gamers who have a proof of purchase (such as a till receipt) from before 12th August, or who connected their 3DS system online but did not access the 3DS shop before then.

Technically this means gamers who took advantage of stores lowering their prices early are still good, even if they bought their 3DS at 11.59pm last night.

All 3DS users who accessed the handheld's eShop channel before midnight last night are automatically granted Ambassador status, and access to the 20 free games.

Nintendo will gift members 10 NES and 10 Game Boy Advance games as free downloads, including Wario Ware GBA, Metroid Fusion and the original Zelda. It's compensation for those who paid a higher price for their 3DS before today's massive price cut took effect.

Need reassurance you're in? Again, ambassador.nintendo-europe.com will be able to put your mind at ease. When it launches. F5 F5 F5.
