343 industries is developing a "mix tape" approach to customise matchmaking in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
"A lot of players have suggested that the team add a "mix tape" style feature for MCC matchmaking..." 343i's community director, Brian Jarrard tweeted. "I just saw a [work in progress] build that the engineering wizard Mr Hermann has already whipped up for initial testing."
If you're wondering what Jarrard means by a "mix tape style feature", he later clarified (thanks, Kotaku) that the system would enable players to customise their matchmaking preferences by game, size, and mode, rather than - as Jarrard puts it - "having a bunch of distinct playlists". He then promised the studio would "share more details soon".
Sneak peek of the w.i.p. “match composer” in development for MCC (I.e. mixtape matchmaking). Pick the game size, the game(s), and mode(s) and jump in to play! This will be coming soon to a public flight build for community testing and feedback, stay tuned! pic.twitter.com/P0LJ3ovWeA— Brian Jarrard (@ske7ch) October 5, 2018
And when Jarrard wrote "soon", he wasn't kidding; a short while later he posted a picture of the "match composer" landing screen.

Halo composer Marty O'Donnell recently shared a never-seen-before video that shows how the shooter's seminal's sound was created and recorded. It includes live sessions with iconic guitarists Nile Rodgers and Steve Vai that are hairs-will-stand-up-on-the-back-of-your-neck levels of amazing for any Halo fan.
