How to solve the Traffic desk case.

LA Noire's The Consul's Car is one of many cases on the Traffic desk - and a DLC case in the original release - and follows on from The Driver's Seat.

The Consul's Car

You start the case in Jacob's Backyard.

Location: Jacobs' Backyard

Clues:

  • Check the front of the car to note the missing license plate.
  • Examine the missing wheel. (Or rather, examine the place where the wheel would be.)
  • Open the car door to check the Vehicle Registration Clip.
  • One of the flags is missing; check the spot where one has been removed.
  • Examine the wrench on the ground.

Use the gamewell, then head over and speak to Oswald Jacobs.

Interview Oswald Jacobs:

  • Witness report: Good Cop (or Truth in the original version).
  • Hispanic suspects: Bad Cop (or Doubt in the original version).
  • Possible suspect vehicle: Good Cop (or Truth in the original version).
  • Vehicle stripped of parts: Bad Cop (or Doubt in the original version).

Pick up the notebook from the nearby bench and flick through it.

Location: Police HQ

Interrogation of Juan Francisco Valdez:

  • Packard purchase history: Bad Cop (or Doubt in the original version).
  • Theft of consular vehicle: Bad Cop (or Doubt in the original version).
  • Association with Gabriel: Accuse (or Lie in the original version). Evidence: Valdez' notebook.

Location: Dewey Bros Dealership

Follow Dewey into the garage, place the wrenches on the rack to see which one is missing, then head back outside.

Interview William Dewey:

  • Association with Valdez: Accuse (or Lie in the original version). Evidence: Alleged bribery.
  • Whereabouts of Del Gado: Bad Cop (or Doubt in the original version).
  • Wrench used in auto theft: Bad Cop (or Doubt in the original version).

Location: Del Gado Residence

Check the mailboxes to find his apartment number, 3, then head in and look for Clues:

  • The stolen flag is on the table to your right.
  • Check the breakfast plates in the kitchen.
  • Head out through the kitchen door and go down to the garage to find the stolen wheels.
  • Pick up the black license plate from the pile.

Head back inside.

Keep on Del Gado's tail and be ready to make a hard left down a narrow ramp as you approach the police barricade.

Next case: LA Noire - A Marriage Made in Heaven

Keep following along the water and then up the ramp, keep to the left side of the right hand train track, and he'll eventually total his car on a passing train. Get out and apprehend him to finish the case.
