WOW Equipment Manager delayed
Won't make launch of patch 3.1.
Blizzard has announced that it's delaying the release of the Equipment Manager feature for World of Warcraft that was due to be included in the next patch, 3.1.
"Certain issues were encountered with the upcoming Equipment Manager that could not be resolved in time for release with the next content update, patch 3.1," said Blizzard poster Bornakk on the official forum.
"In order to ensure that this feature meets our standard of quality, we will be taking some extra time with the Equipment Manager and it will instead be released some time after patch 3.1. We understand that this feature is a widely anticipated addition and apologize for this minor delay."
Equipment Manager will allow WOW players to switch sets of armour and weapons with a single click. This will be particularly important after the imminent patch introduces dual talent specs, allowing characters to switch between two different specialisations (damage and healing, say) on the fly.
The patch is expected to be released in the next week or two, but it won't be this week - Blizzard has announced that today's server maintenance in the US will consist of rolling restarts, and no extended downtime.
Also coming in 3.1 are the Ulduar raid dungeon, and the Argent Tournament for solo players. You can find more information in our test server report.
