Worms wriggles onto iPad

HD game costs three quid.

Team17 has released an iPad version of Worms that costs three Queen's English pounds.

Dubbed Worms HD, the most obvious advancement is crisp, full-screen visuals. But the developer has also gotten to grips with the iPad's multi-touch capabilities.

"Worms is perfectly suited to a casual platform such as iPad, and it's quite possibly the best handheld Worms experience to date," said Team17's Martyn Brown.

"Features such as the ability to pass and play (with the screen flipping for the other player) hark back to the game's social roots. We look forward to delivering more titles for what has quickly become a popular gaming platform."

Worms HD has hotseat multiplayer for four people, a nifty auto-save for abruptly ended games, iTunes music support and loads of content.

English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch languages are supported.
