UFC Undisputed 2010 patch detailed

Coming "later in October, possibly".

A patch for fighting game UFC Undisputed 2010 is in the works and could arrive later in October, publisher THQ has said.

It'll improve the online, camps and career modes and implement fixes across the board. You'll be able to view statistics of your opponent's fighter before proceeding to a match, for example.

Gameplay will also be tweaked with balancing. Ground Grappling Reversals will be balanced to reduce the ease of reversing opponents.

"We fully realize the production timeline for this patch has been longer than anticipated, but many of the issues being addressed in this patch required significant investigation and change to the client and server code in order to improve the online experience," wrote "Tank" on the game's forum.

THQ will send the patch to Microsoft and Sony for approval next week. "As always, we cannot promise the patch will be released on a specific date or time frame until it is approved, so there is a possibility that it could be released later in October depending on the results of our test cycles with first party."

UFC Undisputed 2010 was released earlier this year to a glowing 8/10 Eurogamer review.

Despite positive review scores, it didn't sell as well as THQ hoped. In August president and CEO Brian Farrell blamed "the competitive window" in which UFC Undisputed 2010 was released for its failure to "capture the broader gaming population". That'll be Red Dead Redemption, then.

Core games boss Danny Bilson told Eurogamer THQ's goal with UFC 3 is to "make everybody who's ever bought the first or second game, have to buy the third one".
