EA has announced the first expansion pack for The Sims Medieval.

Pirates and Nobles includes new quests, treasure hunting and hundreds of new objects.

Last night during its Summer Showcase press conference EA said Pirates and Nobles will launch in August for PC and Mac.

"For our players that want more guided gameplay, they will find new quests and one new Kingdom Ambition, and for those who prefer the sandbox world of The Sims, they will find more time to explore life in the Middle Ages," Scott Evans, general manager of The Sims Studio, said.

Eurogamer's The Sims Medieval review returned a 7/10.

"Hollow as the game itself might be, the exterior has more than enough charm to tease you onward," wrote Quintin Smith. "If EA can just pull the core concept out of the dark ages, what comes next should be worth everyone's time."
