Sea of Solitude brings heart-rending loneliness to PS4, Xbox One and PC

"When humans get too lonely, they turn into monsters."

Sea of Solitude may be in its early prototype phase, but its concept and in-development art are certainly intriguing.

The evocative title is an episodic adventure about a girl named Kay who's turning into a monster and must search the seas for a cure. "On her search to change, she soon finds out that her biggest enemies are not the huge monsters that she meets on her way through the Sea of Solitude, but something way more dangerous," developer Jo-Mei Games teased.

Little is known about the gameplay at this point, but the developer noted that its will contain "exploration, puzzles [and] action." Thematically, it will be about "love, solitudes [and] endurance."

Jo-Mei noted on its official site that it's intended for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It was funded in July by the Berlin-based media loan company Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (who incidentally helped fund The Grand Budapest Hotel).
