Striking, story-driven exploration adventure Sea of Solitude gets a July release

On Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Developer Jo-Mei Games' intriguing, visually arresting exploration adventure, Sea of Solitude, will be heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on July 5th.

Sea of Solitude, which has been in the works for some time, having initially been unveiled all the way back in 2015, follows the adventures of a young woman called Kay, living an isolated existence in a waterlogged, monster-strewn land.

That loneliness has caused Kay to transform into a creature of darkness, kickstarting her quest to become human again - and what Jo-Mei calls an "intimate adventure across a beautiful and evolving world where nothing is quite as it seems".

As the story unfolds, Kay's surroundings will change to reflect her emotional state - with water rising and falling, and weather shifting - and players can progress by "overcoming emotional challenges...revealing light and colour into the dark and stormy world."

That, judging by the trailer above, looks to play out through a combination of sailing, platforming, and exploration across Sea of Solitude's sumptuously designed world.

Sea of Solitude is being published by EA as part of its EA Originals programme, which previously helped launch A Way out, Fe, and Unravel. It'll cost £17.99 when it releases on July 5th, and will be available on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Origin for PC.
