Premium Content and Demo Roundup

Live, PSN, Virtual Console, Steam, Metaboli.

We have a gang. Well, a team. A RedLynx Trials 2: Second Edition team. We're not bad, either. Our Eurogamer staff squad is 21st in the whole wide world. We have our key players like Tom who proudly announced he'd beaten all our scores over the weekend. And we have other people who need to pull their socks up, Mark. It isn't the sort of gang we'd envisaged being a part of as a kid, but working in computers has you lower your expectations of being cool. We're not about to start a pop career, for instance, although Ellie is currently wearing a radio mic, leotard, aviators and a blonde wig for an upcoming EGTV special.

Anyway, RedLynx Trials 2 is fiendishly addictive and makes us rue the state of Live Arcade and PSN and the whereabouts of all these indie gems that we were promised at conception. Although the Live Arcade game from last week was Ikaruga, which just happens to be marvellous and well worth your money.

Other than that there is little to pick from. Yes, the Virtual Console got more than usual with four fresh additions (two Master System and two C64 titles), but we find it hard to get excited about old games that cost rather a lot. Otherwise there was a demo for Universe at War, which is a bit rubbish, and some fresh content for Poker Smash.

However, this week sees the redesigned PlayStation Store released along with a Warhawk expansion, Lair content, and the Metal Gear Online client. That really is interesting, which is more than we can say for the rest of Arsenal's season, poor lads.
