How to get Manaphy Egg and Phione in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
How to add two mythical Pokémon to your Pokédex.
It's possible to download a Manaphy Egg via Mystery Gift if you purchase Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl within the first three months of their release.
Since the Manaphy Egg is an early-purchase bonus, you can only download it between Friday, 19th November 2021 to Monday, 21st February 2022.
Once you've hatched your Manaphy, you'll be able to use it to obtain a Phione.

How to get the Manaphy Egg in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Before you can get the Manaphy Egg in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, there are four important facts you need to consider.
The first is that the Manaphy Egg will only be available until Monday, 21st February 2022. Once this day passes, you won't be able to download the Manaphy Egg anymore, so, if you want this mythical Pokémon, make sure you keep to the deadline.
The second is that you must download the software update, which will be released on Friday, 19th November, for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl to gain access to the Manaphy Egg.
As the fact above suggests, you'll also need an Internet connection to collect your Manaphy Egg. Thankfully, you don't need a Nintendo Switch Online membership, so don't worry if you're not signed up for this program.
Finally, and importantly, you will need to unlock the Mystery Gift option in your game first. To do this, visit the Jubilife TV Center after you've gotten the first Gym badge and defeated the two Team Galactic Grunts at the northern exit out of Jubilife City.
Once you're in the Jubilife TV Center, head to the second floor and talk to the man who asks you about the kind of programming you're interested in.
Select 'Everyone Happy' and 'Wi-Fi Connection' and, once he's finished speaking, save your game. You may need to shut the game down and reopen it again to make the Mystery Gift option appear in your menu.
Reaching Jubilife City should take you roughly two hours and, after talking to this man, you'll have permanently unlocked Mystery Gift.
Below you'll find the steps you need to complete to receive the Manaphy Egg:
- Start Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl
- Begin playing the game and open the X menu
- Select 'Mystery Gift'
- Select 'Get via Internet' and connect to the Internet
- Select the Manaphy Egg from the gift list
- The egg will now arrive and your game is saved automatically
With that accomplished, you can now start walking with the egg in your party and soon a Manaphy will be added to your Pokédex.
How to get a Phione in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Phione is a mythical Pokémon which can only be obtained in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl if you already have a Manaphy.
To get a Phione, you need to follow the instructions in the section above to obtain a Manaphy egg and then hatch the Manaphy inside.
Next, you need to catch a Ditto if you don't have one already.
Once you have both of these Pokémon visit, or continue playing until you reach, the Pokémon Nursery in Solaceon Town. Here place both Manaphy and Ditto in the Pokémon Nursery.
Now all you have to do is wait until Manaphy and Ditto create an egg and, when you hatch this egg, you'll receive your Phione!
