Oops, Sega released Yakuza 6 for free

Mob rule.

Yesterday, Sega announced it had launched the demo version of Yakuza 6 for PlayStation 4.

Unfortunately, in North America at least, Sega accidentally released the full version of Yakuza 6 instead.

While labelled as a demo, this trial version is deliberately the entire game - a 30GB download - so if you go on to purchase the full thing you can continue playing where you left off.

In Europe and Australia, players are instructed their trial has ended after reaching a certain point in the demo.

In North America, this did not happen.

Several hours later, Sega realised the error and pulled the demo from the US PlayStation Store.

In a statement posted to Twitter, Sega admitted that "some were able to use the demo to unlock the full game":

There's no word yet on when Sega will reupload the demo - and not the full game - for North American fans.
