Norway's King Harald V has told one of his subjects that he cannot change his name to Sonic X.

Official name changes must be sanctioned by the monarch, but six year-old Christer, who wrote to the King last year, was told he was not old enough to make this kind of decision. Should he still wish to, Christer can reapply when he is 18 years-old.

His parents were reportedly reluctant to post the application, according to Norwegian paper and website Dagbladet (picked up by Gamezine).

Christer said he thought the whole situation "a bit bad", but was no doubt cheered by a hamper of Sonic goodies sent by a sympathetic SEGA.
