True Crime PC confirmed

With multiplayer modes?

True Crime: Streets of LA, Activision's fairly successful Grand Theft Also adventure through an enormous precision-mapped Los Angeles, is on its way to the PC.

As recently mooted thanks to an online retailer listing (swiftly withdrawn, natch), the previously PS2/Xbox/Cube title is on its way to the PC this spring, giving beige boxers the chance to get up close and personal with maverick cop Nick Kang, reinstated to the force to yadda yadda yadda upside someone's head.

In further good news, C&VG reports that the PC version will include a new online multiplayer mode for up to five players. Various modes will be included, touching on each of True Crime's various disciplines - be that street racing like a loony, going toe to toe with some bloke on AOL or fighting in the deathmatch style Battle Master competition.

Given Activision's fondness for the True Crime brand (they've made no bones about the fact they're planning a sequel), the PC take will no doubt prove to be a worthy conversion. Whether it can compete for the affections of GTA's original target audience however remains to be seen... We're guessing it Kang!
