And now for a UT2004 bonus map

An added treat if the bagillion maps in the box don't take your fancy.

For the second time in two days we're reporting on a downloadable freebie for a game that isn't even out yet. Even more coincidentally, it's another add-on level for a multiplayer-only first-person shooter - this time crafted for Unreal Tournament 2004 by the hand of level contributor Chris Blundell. Which means that it's official in an unofficial sort of way.

According to the docs, "Icarus Plaza" is an Onslaught map, which supports between six and ten players and seems to be set on an abandoned residential complex built three miles above the earth's surface. Apparently the reason for its abandonment was "significant structural flaws" - pesky orbital platforms, eh? Perhaps the most interesting aspect however is the author's confession that he designed this map so that "jumping" the vehicles was a core component of the gameplay. We may well have to check it out...

Speaking of which, you can download it ahead of UT2004's release tomorrow by heading here.
