New Call of Duty: Warzone cutscene appears to end the current Modern Warfare storyline

And teases the arrival of Soap.

A new Call of Duty: Warzone cutscene appears to end the current Modern Warfare storyline - and teases the arrival of John "Soap" MacTavish as a new operator.

THERE MAY BE CALL OF DUTY SPOILERS AHEAD.

This new cutscene, obtained after completing the latest set of Warzone intel missions, shows Captain Price kill antagonist Victor Zakhaev and foil his attempt to launch a nuclear attack.

At the end of the cutscene, we see Price and fellow Task Force 141 members Nikolai, Alex, Ghost, Kyle and Farah head off to deal with the ongoing conflict, calling in Soap to enter the battlefield.

YouTuber Geeky Pastimes, who focuses on Call of Duty Easter eggs, appears to have been the first to complete the intel missions and publicise the cutscene:

That appears to be that for the current storyline of Modern Warfare as it continued on from the campaign into the neglected Special Ops mode and then into battle royale Warzone. But it does suggest there's more content coming to Modern Warfare - despite the game's now-synchronised progression with Black Ops Cold War's Season 1.

According to Modern Warzone, Modern Warfare is set to get two new operators, including Soap, three new weapons and multiple new maps. If this is true, it will go some way to placating Modern Warfare fans who feel the year-old game should not be left behind as Activision's priority shifts to Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
