Mythic becomes BioWare Mythic

Assimilation is complete.

Warhammer Online developer Mythic Entertainment has had its name changed again - to BioWare Mythic.

According to Joystiq, the name's been used internally for some time, although it was never formally announced.

The name change reflects owner EA's merger of the massively multiplayer specialist with its flagship role-playing studio BioWare to form an RPG/MMO group a year ago.

Mythic founder Mark Jacobs left at that time, with BioWare's Ray Muzyka taking ultimate responsibility for both studios.

Mythic is used to this sort of thing, having been renamed EA Mythic when it was bought by the publisher, before changing back to its original Mythic Entertainment for a spell.

As of Tuesday this week, Mythic took over the operation of Warhammer Online in Europe from former contractor GOA. It also runs veteran MMOs Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima Online.
