House of the Dead: Overkill gets iOS re-release

Wii shooter dug up and sliced into separate pieces.

Ageing Wii shooter House of the Dead: Overkill has been resurrected for release on iOS devices.

Retitled as House of the Dead: Overkill - The Lost Reels, the on-rails Sega shooter has been split up into three chapters, each containing four levels.

The first two are included in the initial price - £2.99 - but you'll have to pay an extra £1.49 for the final third. You can also buy in-game currency ("Koins") to exchange for better weapons.

HOTD:O - TLR replaces the game's original Wii lightgun-style shooting with a virtual joystick alternative, although a tap-to-shoot option is also available.

The game's witty and swear-filled banter between the two main characters has also been removed.

It's the second re-release for the game following an updated port for PlayStation 3 which utilised the Move controller.
