Google Stadia "the fastest way to experience" Football Manager 2020

Speed demon.

Football Manager 2020 launches on Google Stadia in November - and Sports Interactive has said the streaming service is "the fastest way to experience" the game.

The Stadia version processes matches quicker and lets you have more leagues loaded into your save. Or, you can have a faster game by keeping the number of leagues the same.

Explaining, Miles Jacobson, studio director of Sports Interactive, said: "Football Manager on Stadia includes technology that is only available on that platform, utilising the power of the cloud and Google's data centres to ensure that more matches can be processed in parallel utilising spare bandwidth across the whole system - this means you can have more leagues loaded into your save, or just go for a faster experience by keeping the amount of leagues the same, but having the matches process quicker than you can on any other platform."

Football Manager 2020 comes out on PC, Mac and Stadia in early November. Football Manager 2020 Touch comes out for PC, Mac, iOS and Android then, too, with Football Manager 2020 Mobile also pegged for early November. Football Manager 2020 Touch for Nintendo Switch comes out late November.

As in previous years, if you pre-purchase you get access to the beta, which is available roughly two weeks before the street date. And, as in previous years, careers started in the beta can be carried across to the full game. There's no beta on Stadia.

As for Google Stadia, it launches in November via the Founder's Edition, which costs £119. You get streaming up to 4K resolution as well as three months of Stadia Pro and Destiny 2. But remember, you have to buy new games outright.
