EA's forthcoming twin-stick shooter Gatling Gears launches on Xbox Live Arcade on 11th May, with a PlayStation Network release following on 18th May.

Developed by former Guerilla Games co-founder Martin de Ronde's new Vanguard Games outfit, it'll set you back 1200 Microsoft Points or your local equivalent of $14.99 on PSN.

The concept is simple – you'll jump into a mech suit and blast your way through 30 different areas in an effort to liberate your home planet from the evil forces of the "Empire". Check out the trailer below for more colour.

Co-op play, online leaderboards and an additional survival mode are promised too.

A PC release is also planned, though no date has been confirmed yet.
