Ultra Street Fighter 4 receives PS4 patch

Faster menus, no more invisible Sonic Booms.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 has received a major update on PS4 after its launch on Sony's console was so shoddy that Capcom decided to use the Xbox 360 version instead for its own tournament.

This 1.02 update makes numerous improvements. You'll no longer have to worry about disappearing projectiles, Decapre's teleport animation has been fixed, and the sound effects for the Red Focus Attack and Akuma's stomp have been sorted. There should also be less interface lag in the menus and the general word from the community on NeoGAF is that while not perfect, it's a massive improvement over how the game played before.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 will be heading to the PlayStation 4 on May 26th.

The port, being handled by Other Ocean Interactive, brings over all the DLC and all the characters Capcom's fighter accumulated across its numerous versions last generation, and paves the way for the launch of Street Fighter 5, the PlayStation 4 exclusive that's not yet got a release date.

The PlayStation 4's Ultra Street Fighter 4 also addresses some of the input lag problems some players had on the PlayStation 3 version, according to an official entry on the PlayStation Blog.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 confirmed for PS4

Ultra Street Fighter 4 will launch on PlayStation 4 in spring 2015, Sony has announced. All DLC costumes are included.

At its PlayStation Experience event Sony said the fighting game was due exclusively for PS4, suggesting it will not release for Xbox One.

The news comes following the leak of Street Fighter 5, due out for PC and PS4.

Capcom will release a big patch for fighting game Ultra Street Fighter 4 in December.

The patch, due out shortly after the Capcom Cup tournament on 13th December, adds Edition Select online, new training mode trials and the long-awaited Omega Mode.

The update brings the game up to version 1.04.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 update live now

The Ultra Street Fighter 4 update is live now on Xbox 360 a day earlier than planned.

The 1.92GB update is available from the Xbox Marketplace priced £11.99. This is not the full digital version of the game, which launches alongside the disc version on 5th August.

Reports are coming in that the update is available from the North American PlayStation Store (thanks, EventHubs), but we can't see it on the European Store yet. We expect it'll be live there soon.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 launches on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 4th June 2014, Capcom has announced.

That's for the digital upgrade from Super Street Fighter 4 and Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition. Expect both from PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade for £11.99 / €14.99 / $14.99.

The disc version and the full digital version launch on 5th August 2014 for £19.99 / €29.99 / $39.99.

Twitch and Capcom announce Street Fighter game league

Year-round tournament named Capcom Pro Tour.

Street Fighter developer Capcom has announced the Capcom Pro Tour, an annual gaming league in partnership with streaming broadcaster Twitch.

The tour will initially focus on Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition, then transition to Ultra Street Fighter 4 when it releases this summer.

10 premier events will take place throughout the year, and any player who wins one of these events will ultimately qualify for the year-end Capcom Cup. A further six places will then be offered on a points basis.

Capcom announces Ultra Street Fighter 4

Capcom has announced Ultra Street Fighter 4 for release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in early 2014.

It adds five characters to the established roster, raising the total playable characters to 44, six new stages and completely rebalanced gameplay based on fan feedback.

Four of the new characters have been announced, all lifted from Capcom's Street Fighter x Tekken game: Hugo, Poison, Elena and Rolento. The fifth "all-new" character remains a mystery for now.
