Project Possum, the new games show pilot launched by former Inside Xbox types Explosive Alan Productions, has hit its funding goal in just 24 hours.

The team, which includes former IX co-host Dan Maher, had asked fans to donate towards a $10,000 target, but it has now hit $16,447 with another 30 days of fund-raising still left to run.

"Target amount unlocked. Phenomenal. As the vid says, though, it's only the beginning. Let's smash it - 30 days to go!" Tweeted Maher.

All cash raised beyond the $10k total will be reinvested in the project.

"Every extra pound means a greater level of independence, better gear, better production values and an increased likelihood of securing additional crew, talented contributors, high-profile guests and Pudsey," reads the blurb on its IndieGoGo page.

Microsoft decided to cancel Inside Xbox last month. It told Eurogamer last week that the on-console video service had outlived its usefulness.
